Semi-structural façades

Semi-structural glass façades are modern façade systems that combine the features of classic mullion-transom and structural façades. In this type of façade, one direction of the aluminium structure stays visible from outside, while the other is achieved through a structural bond between the glass panels, creating an elegant, visually consistent façade look.

The system is based on aluminium mullions and transoms fitted with glass of different thicknesses and specifications. Depending on the project, the lines can run vertically or horizontally, while only narrow joints between glass panels are visible in the other direction.

Semi-structural façades allow for large glass surfaces with a high level of water tightness, air sealing and wind-load resistance. Thanks to the reduced visibility of the aluminium structure compared to classic façades, a more contemporary architectural expression is achieved while retaining the system's functionality and reliability.

Because of their aesthetic and technical qualities, semi-structural façades are often used on commercial buildings, hotels, public buildings and modern mixed-use complexes.
